Ryan Yamamoto brings his versatile range of skills as a reporter, anchor and multi-media journalists to the “Tommy Kono Story” project. He is a 2-Time Emmy Award winning sports reporter, and has also been recognized by the Associated Press (APTRA), Radio and TV News Association (RTNA – Golden Mic), and Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ). Yamamoto has served as president and as a board member of the Asian American Journalist Association Sacramento chapter (AAJA). He is currently Morning Anchor for KOMO News (ABC - Seattle) in Seattle, and has worked for KXTV (ABC10 – Sacramento) KSWB (San Diego) and KCRA (NBC – Sacramento). |
PRODUCER:
Suzanne Phan is a proven 20-year veteran television news reporter and multi-media journalist who is also a skilled photographer and editor. She is a former president and current board member of the Asian American Journalist Association Sacramento Chapter (AAJA). Phan is a graduate of the AAJA Executive Leadership Program (ELP) and the Catalyst Leadership Program with the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce (SACC). She is currently a reporter for KOMO News (ABC - Seattle), and has worked for KXTV (ABC10 – Sacramento) KCRA (NBC – Sacramento) and KCOY (Santa Maria – CBS). |
EXECUTIVE PRODUCER:
David Hosley has four decades of experience in broadcasting, including roles overseeing more than a dozen nationally broadcast public television documentaries about the history of communities of color in America. He previously collaborated with the Center for Asian American Media on Searching For Asian America and Resettlement To Redress. Hosley is an award-winning reporter and anchor and is a member of the Silver Circle of the Northern California chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS). He recently received the NATAS Board of Governors Citation for service to the television industry and community. Hosley has taught broadcasting related courses at Stanford, Florida and Florida International. He has served as general manager of KQED-TV and KQED-FM, KCSM-TV/FM and KVIE-TV in California and was news director in Florida of WRUF-AM in Gainesville and WINZ-AM in Miami. His work in television production has been recognized by the Japanese American Citizens League, Organization of Chinese Americans and Punjabi American Heritage Society. |
